The BSRKC Series is dedicated to providing an environment of sportsmanship and camaraderie while furthering the development of kart racers of all ages and competitive levels. BSRKC Double-Header Finale at Shannonville
Championships on the Line

July 14 - The 2014 Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Series wraps up with the Shannonville Bear Hunt double-header July 24-27. With plenty of points still available, championships are at stake. Official practice is on Thursday July 24, and racing follows Friday through Sunday. Special classes added for this event include TaG Junior, TaG Senior, F125 ICC/Moto, Junior Pro, Junior Medium, and Open 4-Cycle Senior.

BSRKC Invades Point Pelee Karting
Race 3 in Leamington

July 9 - The Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Series makes its annual trip to Leamington this weekend to contest Race 3 of the 2014 championship series. Friday and Saturday are official practice days, and all racing takes place on Sunday. TaG Senior and DD2 will be added to this event in addition to all the official BSRKC classes.

BSRKC 2014 Race 2 This Weekend
Series Makes Inaugural Visit to Goodwood Kartways

June 20 - The 2014 Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Series continues this weekend on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, at Goodwood Kartways in Sutton. An official practice session will be held on Saturday, while all racing takes place on Sunday. In addition to the official BSRKC classes, this event will include Rotax Junior, Rotax Senior and Rotax Mini-Max as support classes.

BSRKC 2014 Race 2 Details Available

June 10 - Round 2 of the 2014 Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Series will take place June 21-22 at Goodwood Kartways near Stouffville, Ontario. The event entry form, the event schedule, and accommodations details are now available on the 2014 Schedule page. Stay tuned for further details as the event draws closer.

Bulletin: Spec Fuel Station for Goodwood

June 6 - The BSRKC Supplementary Regulations showed an incorrect fuel station for Race 2 at Goodwood Kartways. The following bulletin amends the regulations to show the correct fuel stations.

BSRKC 2014 Race 1
Action gets underway at 3-S Go Karts in Sutton

May 20 - The 2014 Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Series starts this weekend on Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25, at 3-S Go Karts in Sutton.

The official classes contesting for the Stewart Cups are:

  • Novice;
  • Junior Lite;
  • Junior Heavy;
  • Senior Medium;
  • Honda Masters;
  • Briggs Junior; and
  • Briggs Senior.

The event kicks off with controlled practice on Saturday; with the above classes racing on Sunday. Trophies are awarded from 1st to 3rd. Cash prizes in the amounts of $175.00, $75.00, and $50.00, are awarded to these classes with 10 or more entries.

The Sutton track is open all week for practice. Please visit the http://www.BSRKC.com website for all information related to the practice and race day entry fees, practice and race day schedules, and for information pertaining to the accommodations.

This event is generously sponsored by the Simcoe Kart Club. Please note that the SKC and 3-S 1 Fee Deal special practice and race day offers are not applicable for this event.

Racers competing in the BSRKC Series must register their numbers in order to race in this Series. The fee is $5.00 per class. BSRKC Championship Points will only be awarded to the racers that have registered their numbers.

The BSRKC series has assembled a challenging sequence of venues for 2014. After the opening round at Sutton, the BSRKC series makes its first-ever visit to Goodwood Kartways in Stouffville, Ontario on June 21-22. The series then heads to Leamington for Round 3 at Point Pelee Karting. Finally, the season wraps up with a double-header in the form of the BEAR HUNT races at Shannonville Motorsport Park.

BSRKC 2014 Schedule Announced

March 28 - The principals and organizers of the Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Series are pleased to announce the BSRKC 2014 schedule. The season will kick off with the usual opener at 3-S Go Karts in Sutton May 24-25, followed by a first-time visit to Goodwood Kartways June 21-22. The series then hits the road to Leamington for a July 12-13 event at Point Pelee Karting before championships are settled at the finale at Shannonville Motorsport Park July 24-27. Stay tuned for further information.

December 18 - Ron Henrie won the opportunity to represent BSRKC and MG Tires at the 2013 Granja Viana 500 in Brazil, and definitely made the most of his opportunity to race against many international motorsports stars, as he details in his excellent race report.

BSRKC 2013 Series Concludes at Shannonville Double-Header
Titles Decided in Close Battles

August 14 - Shannonville Motorsport Park hosted the Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Series’ last two races of the 2013 racing season. Excitement is the only word that can describe the atmosphere that permeated the paddocks during this special action packed double header weekend. 239 entries took to the track during the three full days of racing. On the line were substantial cash and draw prizes, and 25 Bears that needed to find new homes.

July 25 - For years the chance to win one of the most coveted awards in karting, “The Bear”, has been enough to draw huge classes for the annual BSRKC races at Shannonville Motorsport Park. This special event follows a double-header format that brings the 2013 BSRKC season to a successful close crowning new Champions in every class. With championships and a cash purse of over $7,000.00 on the line, this is one weekend where racers will make Shannonville Motorsport Park their destination choice.

KDM Racing Adds to Purse at Shannonville

July 10 - The Principals and Organizers of the Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Series, together with the Simcoe and the Waterloo Regional kart clubs, announced today that Kelly Michaud from KDM Racing is adding $1,000.00 to the cash prizes awarded at the annual Bear Hunt races that take place at Shannonville Motorsport Park from July 31 to August 4, 2013.

BSRKC Race 3 at Leamington July 5-7

July 3 - BSRKC invades Point Pelee Karting in Leamington for Race 3 on July 5-7. As usual, the hosts at Point Pelee Karting Club have prepared a first-class event, featuring authentic wood oven cooked pizza for all to enjoy, courtesy of Max DeAngelis and Cole Cacciavillani. Friday practice will be followed by racing on Saturday and Sunday, with classes split across the two race days.

June 18 - The Brian Stewart Racing Championship Series committee is pleased to announce that Race 2 at Flamboro Speedway will be broadcast on Cogeco Cable TV in Southern Ontario. BSRKC is requesting that drivers fill out a quick information form (included in the press release) to help the Cogeco announcers to produce an entertaining program. BSRKC Race 2 June 22-23 at Flamboro Speedway

June 17 - The Ontario karting community will be heading to the challenging track at Flamboro Speedway on June 22nd and 23rd, for Round 2 of the 2013 Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship. The winners at Round 1 held at 3-S Go Karts in Sutton ON will be looking to add to their points lead, but there are many more competitors all with the goal of leading the championship by Sunday evening. BSRKC Adds Briggs & Stratton L0206 Classes

May 2 - Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship officials are excited to announce the addition of Briggs & Stratton classes to its 2013 program, thanks to support from KDM Racing. Commencing with the season-opener on May 25-26, at 3-S Go Karts in Sutton, ON, BSRKC competitors will now have the opportunity race in three Briggs & Stratton classes (Junior, Senior, and Masters) in addition to the traditional Honda 4-stroke, TaG and ICC-Moto classes. The KDM Racing-backed Briggs & Stratton classes will use the 2013 ASN Briggs & Stratton regulations.

In addition, the annual Bear Hunt event at Shannonville Motorsports Park, which features a doubleheader this season, will witnesses the Briggs & Stratton classes being sponsored by KDM Racing. Prizes are currently being finalized.

BSRKC Shannonville Post-Race Report

August 8 - The Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Series travelled down Highway 401 just past Belleville, Ontario for the fourth round of their 2012 Championship season, held at the historic Shannonville Motorsport Park track. The annual BSRKC Canadian Grand National Bear Hunt races, hosted by the Simcoe and Waterloo Regional kart clubs, drew drivers from all over Ontario and Quebec with some of the finest racers lining up to chase the elusive Bear trophy and valuable BSRKC points. Especially crucial were the results in the Senior Medium and 2 cycle classes as these would determine the championship titles. The five day event took place from August 1-5, with three official days of racing needed to include the 21 races on hand that featured a total of 282 entries.

BSRKC 2011 Kawartha Race Report

September 1 - The 2011 Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship (BSRKC) has come to a close, as the final round was contested last weekend at the Kawartha Speedway in Fraserville, Ontario. With championship titles on the line and 100 bonus points awarded to finale entrants, karters descended upon the popular track looking to secure race wins and lock up tight point battles. Those who prevailed walked away with bragging rights after conquering the challenging road/oval course layout while championship winners will take home the coveted Stewart Cup trophy at the year-end banquet and awards gala.

BSRKC 2011 Shannonville Race Report

August 15 - Many of the top kart racers from across Ontario and Quebec descended on Shannonville Motorsport Park on July 27th for the most popular kart racing event of the season. Five days later, 21 racers left with the coveted Bear trophies; the other 343 racers left with memories, great cash and draw prizes, and the knowledge that they would have to wait for next year to get another shot at the prestigious Bear.

BSRKC Completes Successful 2010 Season in Sutton

September 21 - The 2010 Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship completed its season finale event, sponsored by Canadian Insurance Brokers Inc. and Jason Jenkins, this past weekend, returning to 3-S Go Karts in Sutton. With six official Honda Class Champions crowned in Innisfil three weeks prior, the remaining six classes competed in a double-header weekend with three more drivers adding ‘2010 BSRKC Champion’ to their resume, while Michael Glaze and Jaret Stewart became 2010 multiple Champions. Mother Nature once again delivered perfect weather for the three-day weekend event.

BSRKC Completes Successful Weekend in Innisfil

August 31 - This past weekend, the Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Series crowned its first six Champions of the 2010 season as the 4-cycle classes took to the track at Innisfil Indy Go Karts. Racing on a unique version of the circuit, all six classes were still up for grabs entering the weekend, but with consistency common throughout the front-runners, no changes occurred in the top standings and six drivers added ‘BSRKC Champion’ to their resumes.

2010 Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Bear Hunt a Huge Success

August 4 - The Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship continued its 2010 season with its ‘Bear Hunt’ races held annually at Shannonville Motorsport Park on the Civic Holiday long weekend. Hundreds of karters packed into the grounds at SMP for the five-day event, with 447 total entries spread over 21 classes. Mother Nature delivered great weather for racing, providing plenty of sunshine for the racers and their families. Headlining the events of the weekend, a number of drivers displayed very dominant performances.

Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Leamington Race Report

July 6 - Round four of the 2010 Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship sponsored by CF Groups and Quinlan Inc, was held this past weekend at the Point Pelee Karting facility located in Leamington, Ontario, Canada. In one of Canada’s most southern areas, the weather was perfect, as beautiful sunny skies, and warm temperatures brought many smiles in the paddock after what has been a very soggy season thus far. With the mercury well into the 30’s, the action on track was just as hot, with some very intense racing.

Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Innisfil Race Report

June 15 - The Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship returned to action this past weekend, as the two-cycle classes along with the Honda Junior Medium class contested their second double-header at the newly repaved Innisfil Indy. The race marked the return of the BSRKC to Innisfil since the series' first year of competition, five short seasons ago. After a successful day of practice on Friday, teams and drivers completed race one on Saturday under gray skies and wet weather, but returned on Sunday for some sunshine and warmer weather for race two.

Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Kawartha Report

May 25 - The second weekend of the 2010 Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship is now in the books after a unique Sunday-Monday event held at Kawartha Downs and Speedway opened the year for the 2-stroke classes as well as Honda Junior Medium. Beautiful blue skies, and temperatures hovering at 30 degrees matched the hot action on the semi-temporary Kawartha track. The weekend featured many drivers taking the first regional victory of their careers as well as some drivers who kicked off a great start in defending their 2009 BSRKC Class championships.

Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship Round #1 Race Report

May 17 - Beautiful sunny skies welcomed 103 4-cycle Honda drivers to 3-S Go Karts in Sutton, Ontario for the opening round of the 2010 Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship. On the track, the racing was nerve-racking as nearly every race went down to the wire, while off the track, the feel in the paddock was electric with excitement as many drivers and teams made their first regional event start of the year. The new event style of practice on Saturday, race on Sunday received big thumbs up from many competitors and families, and in turn drew a very large turnout. Brian Stewart of Brian Stewart Racing, a Firestone Indy Lights racing team, was on hand to help present trophies and prizes as well as interact with karters throughout the day’s events. As always, Simcoe Kart Club welcomed everyone to their home track with open arms, and did a fantastic job as the host club.

Brian Stewart Racing Launches F2000 Team

December 22 - After more than a decade, Brian Stewart Racing is returning to the F2000 Series in 2010. The team will compete in 12 races over 7 weekend events as part of the USF2000 Series that is sanctioned by the Indy Racing League's Road to Indy Ladder Program. The F2000 Team is part of a comprehensive Driver Development Program that provides drivers with an open-wheel stepping stone between karting and Indy Lights. Glaze Wins BSRKC Shootout For Stewart’s IRL Firestone Indy Lights Test

September 29 - On Sunday, September 28, 2008, 3-S Go Karts in Sutton played host to seven outstanding BSRKC Senior Class Champions and top contenders vying for the Series' grand prize. Up for grabs was the opportunity to test in a Brian Stewart Racing IRL Firestone Indy Lights race car. Five of the seven drivers were within 2 tenths of a second on their combined times. As the sessions came to a close however, Michael Glaze was able to knock another tenth off his times making him the fastest karter on the track.

BSRKC Drivers Chosen for Stewart IRL Indy Lights Test Shootout

September 23 - At 3:00 pm this Sunday, September 28, 2008, 3-S Go Karts in Sutton will host the karting shoot out for the BSRKC IRL Indy Lights test with Brian Stewart Racing. Seven very deserving BSRKC karters will test in both a Rotax TAG and a ICC shifter kart to demonstrate their racing skills and speeds in front of Mr. Stewart and the testing committee.
